PERMANENT MAKEUP
How long is a permanent makeup procedure?

Most procedures take 2 to 2 ½ hours. This time includes forms to be filled out, design, color selection, time for the area to be numbed, time for the procedure, and to review after care information.

Is there any downtime with permanent makeup?

There is no downtime after your procedure. After care instructions will be given to you after the procedure as well as an aftercare kit.

Does permanent makeup procedures hurt?

Most people feel some discomfort. However, numbing agents are used before and during the procedure to minimize discomfort.

Do I need to have the touch up procedure?

Yes, it is highly recommended to do the touch up 6 – 8 weeks after the initial procedure because often times the tattooed color is not perfect. It should not be done earlier than 6 six weeks to allow optimal healing of the skin.

Can I have an MRI with permanent makeup?

Numerous studies have shown that MRI is safe and very few reported local discomfort. Always advise your medical professional that you have permanent makeup tattoo.

Are permanent makeup procedures safe?

At Welch Skin Clinic, cleanliness and safety are our top priority. All microblading and tattoo machine needles and pens are sterile, for one time use, and disposed after each client. Other precautions such as hospital grade hygienic cleaning of furniture and equipment, including protective coverings are applied prior to your procedure. In addition, providers use strict hand washing with medical grade hand soap, gloves, gown, and masks during your procedure. All providers are Blood Borne Pathogen Prevention Certified. Dr. Natasha Welch is a board certified Nurse Practitioner.

How long does permanent makeup last?

Each person is different due to various skin types. Initially the color is very dark and bold due to inflammation and the color sitting on top layers of the skin. During the healing phase, the color will fade 30-50%. Afterwards, the desired pigment usually last 18 – 24 months. Evidence of pigment can remain for years. A Color Enhancement Touch Up is recommended every 18-24 months.

What causes permanent makeup to fade?

This is dependent on each person’s body chemistry, use of anti-aging serums over tattooed areas, and sun exposure. It is recommended to use a daily SPF sun protection after the healing period.

Which device is used for microneedling?

The ProCell™ is used for all microneedling procedures.

Will I feel pain with microneedling?

Treatment sensations vary for each person. A topical anesthetic is applied prior to application of the microneedle. The treatment is reported to be well tolerated and feels like a lightweight sandpaper moving across the skin.

How long is a microneedle treatment?

A full face and neck treatment can take approximately 40 minutes. Topical anesthetic applied prior to the procedure may take an additional 15 minutes to take effect. Other treatment times vary depending on the size and number of area(s) being treated.

How many treatments should I have?

Depending on the treatment goals, you may require one to four treatments spaced four to six weeks apart.

Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime. There is minimal discomfort afterwards.

Is it safe for all skin types?

The microneedle have not had any reported adverse skin reactions or post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. It is normal to have redness or flushing the first 24 to 48 hours after the treatment. This is followed by the appearance of an improved complexion.

Will I need to anything to my skin after the treatment?

You will need to keep the skin hydrated internally by drinking lots of water and externally hydration by following the skin care regimen recommended by the Welch Skin Clinic provider.

Who cannot receive IV Hydration?

Anyone with heart disease, kidney disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, pregnancy, or nursing.

How are the benefits of the Amino Acids in The Metabolizer bag?

L-Arginine: Stimulates nitrous oxide formation in the blood vessel walls. This leads to improved heart pumping and lowering of the BP. Improves erectile dysfunction. L-Ornithine: Improves liver function by managing ammonia levels. It improves workout performance. It reduces anxiety. Skin is improved because it promotes collagen production.

 

L-Lysine: Lowers stress-induced anxiety and reduced levels of the stress hormone cortisol. Prevents cold sores. Protects bones by increasing calcium absorption. Necessary for collagen therefore improves skin and bone structure.

 

L-Citrulline: Reduces fatigue and muscle soreness by Increasing ATP and creatine phosphate, which is a form of energy reserves in muscle. It improves erectile dysfunction (ED) and increases the hardness of erections. It converts to

L-Arginine that increases nitric oxide levels. This increase in nitric oxide also lowers blood pressure and improves circulation.  Immunity and increased growth hormone levels are also improved.

 

L-Carnitine: Drives fatty acids into the cell mitochondria where it is converted to energy. It improves muscle recovery, reducing muscle soreness with exercise.  It helps with red blood cell productions. It also improves brain function.

How is B12 Hydroxocobalamin beneficial?

B12 is an essential vitamin the body cannot make. It is found in animal products. It boosts energy, helps with brain function and memory. It reduces homocysteine which in high levels is a risk for heart disease. It also helps build red blood cells, in turn reduces risk of anemia.  Most people found with dementia, osteoporosis (bone loss) or vegan diets are found to have a deficit in B12. Therefore, supplementation is important.
